R-C-M-P are investigating a crash that claimed the life of a 43 year old Mission man around 2-o'clock yesterday afternoon.
It happened on Highway 1 on the Emory Creek bridge near Hope when the semi trailer he was driving lost control, crashing through a guardrail and then falling 12 metres into a creek bed.
Police say at the time of the crash, the road was covered with compact snow with some freshly fallen snow on top.
They say the speed of the truck relative to the road conditions appear to be the cause but a mechanical inspection still needs to be conducted on the vehicle.
The highway was closed for about 10 hours with traffic re-routed via the Coquihalla Highway to and from the Interior.
