The Thompson Nicola Regional District calling the province's decision to oppose the planned Trans Mountain pipeline expansion disappointing.
TNRD Chair John Ranta says it seems the province is 'turning its back" on a mega project that would benefit communities throughout the province.
"Billions of dollars were expected to be spent, employing thousands of people during the construction phase. It surprises to me a project of this magnitude would be rejected by the provincial government."
Ranta admits environmental considerations are important, but says the TNRD's experience with Kinder Morgan's Trans Mountain pipeline the past sixty years, has been a good one.
