Signs are pointing to things turning around for BC's Lumber Sector.
After a terrible start to the year that saw lumber being sold for as low as $249 per thousand board feet, Industry Analyst Russ Taylor says prices have rebounded, increasing to as much as $325 in recent weeks.
“We had a really tough situation for the BC industry… they couldn’t ship anymore to China and Japan also slowed down due to a cooling of housing starts. So basically at the beginning of the year they could go to Asia whatsoever.”
Taylor is adamant when he says better days are straight ahead for this province's lumber producers.
