VSA Highway Maintenance was out in force on the Coquihalla Highway and the Okanagan Connector last night, as a winter onslaught caught motorists.
VSA released an advisory early last night advising that most roads were wet prior to the freeze that set in, making for very slippery driving conditions.
VSA crews have been out sanding and plowing, but despite their efforts, RCMP and emergency crews responded to numerous accidents.
A number of people were treated for various injuries, but none are reported to be life threatening.
Authorities ask drivers to please drive according to the existing road conditions.
