The Merritt RCMP have confirmed to Q101 that no new information can be shared regarding the disappearance of Lalie Honeywell and that the investigation continues.
On May 12, 2020, at approximately 9:30 a.m., Merritt RCMP received a report of a missing Merritt woman. Lalie Honeywell was last seen on May 11, 2020, at the Double D Inn located in the 1500-block of Nicola Avenue in Merritt at approximately 6:00 p.m.
Items believed to belong to Honeywell were located near Nicola Avenue in the vicinity of the Nicola River Bridge. The location of the belongings prompted a search of the Nicola River by Nicola Valley Search and Rescue (SAR), who were supported from the air by Kelowna RCMP Air Services.
Throughout the past four months, RCMP has scoured the area with multiple ground and air searches as well as asking for the public’s assistance with dashcam footage.
Lalie Honeywell is described as an Indigenous woman, 44-years-old, 5 ft 3 in tall, weighs approximately 150 lbs, with short brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing jeans, a purple shirt, and a pair of DC brand shoes.
