During this week’s committee of the whole meeting focused on the 2020 capital budget, the relocation of the dog park was proposed.
Superintendent of Public Work Charlie Henderson presented the option to the Council.
“I’m requesting that we relocated it to Collettville, just across the river, kitty-corner from Centennial Park. We are looking to increase the size by two and a half times,” said Henderson.
The existing dog park would be absorbed by the Public Works Yard.
The project that would include new fencing, parking, grass, and irrigation is budgeted at $140,000.
The reasoning behind the move was two-fold, first creating a bigger dog park for the users and second creating more space for public works as the community continues to grow.
Council has not yet voted on the proposal.
