The Green Party is getting set to announce that Robert Mellalieu has been acclaimed as their candidate for the Federal Riding of Central Okanagan—Similkameen—Nicola ahead of October’s general election.

Mellalieu ran in the 2015 Federal Election in this riding, finishing in fourth behind MP Dan Albas, as well as the Liberal and NDP candidates. He collected just under 2,500 votes.

He received 13.67% of the vote. Clark won in a landslide with just under 60%.

Mellalieu lives and works in West Kelowna where he has run a small computer support shop for the past quarter century.

Mellalieu joins the race alongside Conservative MP Albas, NDP Candidate Joan Phillips and People’s Party of Canada Candidate Allan Duncan. The Liberals have not yet acclaimed a candidate.
