Record breaking heat in the Nicola Valley.
Environment Canada's Cindy Yu confirming the daily temperature record was broken yesterday.
She says the 36.3 degrees recorded erases the previous record of 35 degrees set back in 1978.
"It was a pretty hot day right across the region, so I'm expecting a number of daily temperature records being set across the Southern Interior."
As for today, Yu says the daily temperature record of 35.5 degrees set back in 1981 is also likely to fall.
"We are expecting another very hot day. Our forecasted high is 38 degrees."
The extreme heat is being caused by a ridge of high pressure building from the U.S.
