Nicola Valley Fish and Game Club waiting patiently for ruling in potential precedent setting civil trial over access to area lakes.
Closing arguments in the civil trial between the club and the Douglas Lake Cattle Company over the right for the public to access to Minnie and Stoney Lake were delivered in November, but director Rick McGowan says it remains anyone's guess as to when, or if a ruling will be made in 2018.
"We hope so, but there is no protocol. There is no criteria for when they have to issue a ruling, which seems bizarre. Realistically, you'd think they would have to do so in a reasonable time frame, but I guess not."
The BC Supreme Court judge's ruling in the case, will set precedent for about 30 lakes on the Douglas Lake Ranch, as well as many others throughout the province.
